Council Reviews Main Street Plan

At its May 7thmeeting the City Council had the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the Main Street Corridor Plan, which has been in progress since Spring 2018. The corridor plan is assessing land use, transportation, market needs, and opportunities for improvements to the Main St. Corridor. The plan includes the roughly five-mile long Main Street Corridor and encompasses one to three blocks on each side of Main Street.

The good news for REALTORS® is that the plan recommends more residential and commercial development along the corridor, with a preference for mixed-use and higher density residential developments. Staff is meeting with CDOT to discuss potential corridor improvements for access control, etc. and business and property owners to ensure there is an understanding of the initial concepts. Once these discussions have finished the staff will put together a detailed implementation strategy, which will be presented to Council later this summer.
