IRES is pleased to announce that we have signed a multiyear extension agreement with SentriLock, LLC. The extended agreement demonstrates IRES is committed to providing the tools that promote efficiency and safety to our brokers in an easy and convenient way.
SentriLock is owned by the National Association of REALTORS®, and it bills itself as the leading electronic lockbox manufacturer and service provider. With this service, users can open lockboxes from their smartphone or tablet and receive instant showing notifications in real time, ensuring agents never miss a showing. Plus, brokers can log who has been coming and going from their properties.
“SentriLock is offering IRES several attractive options to encourage and increase electronic lockbox adoption in our region, including financial incentives and training,” said Lauren Hansen, CEO of IRES. “We look forward to passing along savings to subscribers, and we are especially excited about the new Bluetooth technology,” she added. “Since IRES covers such a large geographic area and diverse inventory of properties, Bluetooth is a great solution for areas that may not have reliable cell service.”
The SentriSmart™ app is available at no change in the Apple app store and Google Play, and it features several convenient functions, including lockbox settings, One Day Codes and Access Logs so brokers and sellers know who was in the property and when. Online tutorials are available on YouTube for those that want to learn more.
“IRES has been a great customer and collaborative partner since 2007,” said John Warner, SentriLock’s Director of Regional Sales. “And, we’re very excited for the near future, as they’ll be offering some impressive incentives to allow ALL their subscribers access to the best technology our industry can offer.”
SentriLock products will be offered through IRES and six Boards and Associations of REALTORS®: Boulder Area REALTOR® Association, Fort Collins Board of REALTORS®, Estes Valley Board of REALTORS®, Greeley Area REALTOR® Association, Longmont Association of REALTORS® and the Loveland-Berthoud Association of REALTORS®.
I don’t like using sentriLock or their fees, and prefer to use standard manual lockboxes like everyone else in Denver.
IRES is turning into a money siphoning corporate MLS, and it’s getting me down. Just need a central listing source to access and share information, not all your add ons. *Crystal Sulik* Broker-Owner http://www.skyrise-realty.com

Crystal:
Thanks for weighing in. Sentrilock is an optional service, so you can choose to utilize the electronic security features or continue using manual lockboxes. However, there are some serious risks associated with manual lockboxes that should be taken into consideration by not only brokers, but sellers as well. In May, Denver Channel 7 did a piece on break-ins with manual boxes, stating, “A rash of home burglaries is possibly the result of a resistance to new technology by Denver-area realtors.”

IRES treats the Sentrilock service as a breakeven offering, not a profit center. The app is free and some attractive options will be offered in 2019. Stay tuned for more details.
**Important Update:** IRES is announcing Sentrilock monthly fees are being waived for 2019! More details to come.
