Longmont: Council Considers Affordable Dedication for Annexation

On April 11th, the City Council approved the annexation of the Nova property north of Nelson Road and West of Dry Creek Drive. The ordinance approves high density residential zoning for the 11-acre parcel west of Target, on which the developer intends to build apartments.

According to an observer, Council member Jeff Moore suggested a 10 percent affordable housing dedication as part of the annexation agreement. Although some members of Council (Christensen and Peck) liked the idea, ultimately the Council decided not to include the requirement to the final agreement.
