The Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® (FCBR), Colorado State University and the Associated Students at Colorado State University (ASCSU) were no doubt disappointed with the City Council’s decision to narrow the scope of a study to investigate the impact of the U+2 ordinance and possible unintended consequences. FCBR asserts the ordinance impacts housing affordability. The REALTORS® hope to receive an issues mobilization grant from the National Association of REALTORS® to help pay for 25 percent of the study’s cost, which was estimated at $125,000 as proposed. The Council balked at the cost and objectives of the study; it directed staff to come back with changes to the study.
