CDOT’s regional director, Johnny Olson, says work on I-25 over Crossroads Boulevard will be starting soon. All four lanes of the highway will remain open while the bridge is widened so that it can eventually accommodate additional traffic lanes. That project will be completed in 2017.
Olson also said the Phase 1 project (between SH 14 down to SH 402) will proceed even though the TIGER grant was $10 million less than expected. CDOT is committed to funding the project for which local governments donated $25 million. The entire project will cost $237 million and will be complete by December 2020.
