The Colorado Contractors Association (CCA) announced it will not campaign for a transportation sales tax on the November ballot. Previously CCA had pulled multiple ballot titles but had not come to a final decision to move forward, CCA’s Executive Director, Tony Milo wrote, “our investors have made the difficult but smart decision to hold off on pursuing an initiated measure this year. We are greatly encouraged by all of the support we have received from all corners of the state to find a sustainable solution to our transportation funding crisis.
While public sentiment remains strong to find a solution, we feel, for many reasons 2018 may be a better time to go to the voters. We look forward to working with all stakeholders starting immediately to work toward a 2018 measure.”
