Greeley: Council Gets a Transportation Update

Staff provided an update on the projects funded by the sales taxes approved by voters last fall as part of the Keep Greeley Moving campaign. $1 million was allocated for sidewalk improvements this year, which were previously the responsibility of homeowners. In order for a homeowner to qualify, the sidewalk must pose a safety hazard.

One of the first major road projects funded by the tax is improvements to 20th Street. It will be widened to four lanes with turn lanes between 74th and 83rd Avenue. Lighting, detached sidewalks, raised center medians and bike lanes are included in this project, which is just beginning this spring. The City is creating a website with information, updates and detour information: www.KeepGreeleyMoving.com.
