Both county commissioners who are up for reelection this November now have opponents. In District 2, Eric Mokler, a partner in a local industrial real estate firm, will challenge Steve Johnson, a fellow Republican. Bill Wright, a high school teacher from Fort Collins has also announced his candidacy. More information about Mokler and Wright are available on their websites, www.ericmokler.com and www.wrightforlarimercounty.com.
Karen Stockley will try to unseat Tom Donnelly in District 3. Stockley ran against Donnelly in 2012 and lost by 2 percentage points. She served one term on the Thompson School Board before losing to Bob Kerrigan and also ran unsuccessfully against BJ Nikkel for the House District 49 seat in 2010.
Note: The Realtors will conduct candidate interviews in August or early September.
