Longmont has hired national consultants TischlerBise to review the City’s impact fees, which are designed to ensure that “development pays its own way.” In particular, the staff wants to ensure that the transportation and public buildings impact fees comply with current State statute.
The Council had an overview of the issue on Jan. 5 intended to educate the new Councilors about the purpose and legal context of the fees. The Council will review some draft recommendations on Jan. 26, at which time we can expect a little more discussion. In the meantime, a developer focus group is also providing input to staff.
