Chris Allison, the City’s Chief Building Official, has announced that the City will consider local amendments to the 2015 International Codes, which govern residential and commercial construction. He is convening a committee comprised primarily of contractors to review the 2015 proposed amendments this summer.
While it doesn’t appear that there are any substantial changes for residential projects, residential sprinkler systems have been a part of the model code since 2009. In the past Realtors have followed proposed changes to ensure amendments do not unduly increase the cost to build new homes or negatively impact remodels of existing properties.
