Berthoud: Town, County Want Shared Growth Management Boundaries

Berthoud and Larimer County are gathering comments on growth-management area boundaries defined by the Town of Berthoud Comprehensive Plan and the town’s intergovernmental agreement with Larimer County. The ultimate goal of the meetings is to establish a singular growth-management boundary that would be recognized by both the Town and County as well as residents and property owners. A secondary goal is to define procedures and practices for developing properties within the agreed-upon boundaries. Observers say this project could be intended to reduce the increasing number of conflicts between developers and local residents.
