Members of Colorado’s Republican Party are considering their options in the wake of Rep. Cory Gardner’s announcement that he will challenge Mark Udall for his U.S. Senate seat. In response, Colo. Rep. Amy Stephens and Ken Buck have pulled out of the race.
Now it’s a question of which Republicans will run for the 4th Congressional District seat being vacated by Gardner. Ken Buck announced his decision to run for the seat, but a slew of others are considering it. Those who have raised their flag expressing interest are State Sen. Scott Renfroe (who is term-limited), Rep. Tim Dore (HD 64), Weld County Commissioners Sean Conway and Barbara Kirkmeyer, as well as Rep. Clarice Navarro, who currently serves HD 47.
