Berthoud Moves Forward with Historic District

Berthoud’s Historic Preservation Advisory Committee received approval from the Board of Trustees to begin the process to create a historic residential district in Berthoud. This is a public process that involves community outreach to ascertain property owners’ interest. If interest is sufficient, a grant from the State would help fund a survey of historic homes to determine eligibility. As envisioned, the district would be “opt-in. No homeowner would be required to include their property as a contributing structure or be part of the Historic District.
