Greeley City Council Race Shapes Up

Of the four seats available in this November’s election only John Gates (Ward 3) has no opponent. While the other races aren’t official yet, it appears that Priscilla Resendiz will oppose incumbent Mayor Tom Norton and Mark Schreiberman will oppose Sandi Elder (at-large). Despite rumors that Donna Sapienza would run again, she has made no formal declaration while Mathew Loftedness and Patrick Wardell have announced their candidacy for the Ward 2 seat. Observers expect someone to run against Gates and it is certainly possible for a candidate to get the required signatures in time to make the Aug. 26 deadline.
