Larimer County Creating New Electronic Property Information Database

Terry Gilbert, the director of Larimer County’s Community Development Division (planning, zoning, building and economic development) says a project is underway that will benefit REALTORS. The County has hired a consultant to create a new comprehensive property database, including older information that is not currently available in an electronic format.

When the project is complete in 2014, it will be possible to enter an address and find all County documents pertaining to that property, including planning, building, zoning, assessor information and permits. Gilbert says the County’s intent is to make it simple to get property information without having to check with multiple departments. This is a complicated project that will take at least a year to complete.

Note: Gilbert is very interested in having meetings with REALTORS on a regular basis. The purpose of the meetings would be to share information and gather input on issues related to the real estate industry. FCBR and LBAR’s government affairs committees are the most logical groups to be involved in these meetings; more information will be forthcoming.
