The Loveland City Council adopted the 2012 International Building Code updates on first reading, May 21. Residential, commercial, electrical, plumbing and energy conservation codes are affected. Other jurisdictions have already adopted the 2012 updates and building officials say the most significant cost for residential construction are the increased insulation requirements.
The codes were approved as part of the consent agenda, so there was no discussion. The second reading and public hearing is scheduled for June 4th.
